Fourth and Church is an independent and award-winning, wine-led restaurant and cocktail bar located in the affluent seaside town of Hove. It also has a wide retail selection focusing on small, niche producers and low intervention wines. We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of delivering strong sales and business growth, who thrives in a hospitality environment and embodies our ethos. As our manager you’ll need to be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and most importantly passionate about exceptional customer service. In addition, you’ll need to be a strong leader with experience in recruiting, training, and developing our team with the ability to retain composure in challenging situations.
Experience working with wine, a knowledge of and a passion for wine is essential to succeed in this role. A background in bar management is desirable.
Candidate Requirements
Proven managerial experience in a busy hospitality environment.
Passion for service excellence in professional surroundings.
Clear and concise communication skills with the business owners, guests and colleagues and suppliers.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast moving, hybridrestaurant/retail environment whilst always maintaining strong leadership and a calm demeanor.
Strong command of the English language.
Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Always maintain a smart and professional image and attitude with impeccable appearance and presentation standards.
Passion for and knowledge of wine.
WSET qualifications are highly desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Key Duties
Consistently maintain and deliver core operating standards in service and quality.
Recruit, train, coach, and retain a talented team, encouraging and maintaining a culture of excellence while identifying future leaders.
Drive business growth by achieving and exceeding sales targets, audit scores, and performance goals.
Collaborate with business owners and sales managers, in the development of innovative marketing strategies to grow the business.
Cultivate a guest-focused team culture that delivers exceptional service and experiences, ensuring guests leave excited to return.
Address and resolve customer queries and complaints effectively at the appropriate time
Proactively identify challenges and implement improvement initiatives to enhance operations and guest satisfaction.
