Front of house Floor Staff

Fourth and Church is an independent and award winning wine-led restaurant and cocktail bar located in the affluent seaside town of Hove. It also has a wide retail selection focusing on small, niche producers and low intervention wines. We have been established for almost ten years and pride ourselves in the connections we have made within the local neighbourhood.

The small and friendly team is made up of passionate and knowledgeable individuals dedicated to continually improving our offerings and we are seeking a full time front of house member to join us.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with 100s of wines and fantastic food in a busy restaurant environment looking after our many regular, and new, guests and working alongside the Restaurant Manager, Bar Team and Owners.

We are looking for an ambitious and outgoing front of house server with a genuine passion and interest in food and drinks to help elevate the continued success of Fourth and Church.

Responsibilities

  • Take food and wine orders delivering exceptional guest experiences

  • Communicate excellent product knowledge to our guests and customers

  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of our wine list and give the best recommendations to our guests

  • Communicating with the kitchen/back of house

What you can bring

  • A smart and professional image and attitude

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with guests and other team members

  • A sound knowledge and interest in all aspects of food service

  • A passion for and ability to discuss in depth and advise on wine, spirits & beer purchases at all levels (WSET qualifications beneficial but not essential)

  • The ability to stay calm in a fast paced and demanding environment

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required by the business

  • Hospitality or table service experience would be beneficial, but not essential
