BAR Staff

Fourth and Church is a well known, award winning wine bar and restaurant, we have a superb opportunity for a bartender to join the bar team for its site in Hove, Sussex.

We specialise in exceptional and carefully sourced wines, Sherry, Vermouth. Our cocktails are based on updating and twisting classics with seasonal ingredients and artisanal products.

For this role you will need cocktail skills, a knowledge and love for wine and experience of working in a quality bar/restaurant together with a real passion and flair for your role and fantastic interpersonal skills.

Key Duties:

  • Service of wine, cocktails and all other beverages to customers seated at the bar or at our restaurant tables.

  • Undertake a range of duties essential for the smooth operation of the bar, such as the preparation of drinks, table service, setup and close down, stock rotation, cleaning and upkeep of the bar area.

  • Taking food and drinks orders from bar tables and placing order via EPOS.

  • Clearing of tables, glass and plate washing throughout the shift.

  • General cleaning duties to include tables, floors, washrooms, floors

  • Completion of daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks.

  • Assistance in the organisation of bar and stock areas in relation updating of Wine/Drink lists including keeping abreast of stock levels.

  • Receive, handle and manage incoming stock items. Planning and preparation of the ingredients needed for the back bar, such as syrups/shrubs and garnishes, iIt's the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the whole show running smoothly.

  • Informative, articulate communication of our products available for sales across restaurant and retail streams. Concise communication of all stock levels, bin ends and specials to the FOH team, so you'll need great communication skills with your team and customers.

  • Ensuring all guests receive an efficient, friendly and personalised service with positive actions taken when a customer enters or leaves the business, making sure every customer's experience is positive, relaxed and enjoyable.
